This pattern was specially designed for A. Joshi, who’s participating in the Berroco Sock-Hop, 2022. Knitting socks is not as difficult as it looks. And the warmth one gets from socks which are hand knitted with love in every stitch, cannot be compared to factory made socks. In 2020, when I was putting away clothes in my husband’s cupboard, I discovered nine brand new pairs of thick factory made socks hidden away, so that he wouldn’t be forced to wear them. He had asked me to knit him nice warm thick ones to wear through the pandemic, in winter, at home, saying nothing was warmer or better than mine, and that he had no socks!!! I had to shelve projects on hand to knit him his special pairs, but he’s a treasure and very knit worthy!
Be warned, however, cos knitting socks is addictive. Once you go down this rabbit hole, you will be knitting socks for everyone under the sun. Rediscover the slowness of breath. The special mystique records the nuances of life. This pattern is well planned yet simply written. Listen to your inner voice. You have the power to make a difference.

Berroco Vintage DK, Colour#2150, 2 skeins, 100 gms each, each 290 yards (265m), 52% Acrylic, 40% Wool, 8% Nylon.
2 sets of 3.75mm Fixed Circular Knitting Needles or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 22 sts & 28 rows= 4” in Stockingnette St. Please use whatever size needles & a gauge which is suitable for you. Needle size & gauge are only a suggestion. I personally feel that it’s important to create socks you are comfortable wearing rather than trying to match my gauge.
