With your fingers free in these mitts you can stay warm and finish all your chores without losing a mitt before you get home!

These chunky mitts are a great easy make for new knitters and a quick knit for anyone with more experience.

This is a printable, pdf download.

Who is this for?
This pattern is ideal for you if you’d like to make your first pair of mitts, they are a good learning tool for following thumb shaping and as they’re knitted flat on single pointed needles, right than circular, you’ll not get confused as to which row you’re knitting next. You will only use the beginner knitting jargon. You’ll be knitting these flat and sewing a side seam - see my blog for video demo of sewing the seam.

Why do you need it?
Adding shaping (and thumb holes) to your knitting skills is perfect for then attempting larger items. (and who wouldn’t want these mitts anyway?!)

To knit this you’ll need:
Pairs of single pointed knitting needles, size 6mm

100g chunky/bulky yarn

Also needed are a measuring tape and knitter’s sewing needle or tapestry needle.
