Inspired by the sun’s last rays over water, this sleek and modern elongated crescent shawl is worked from the center out in a combination of stockinette and garter stitch.

Simple stripes and a wide border are complimented by the unique texture of hand-spun yarns. Easy to memorize, this project is ideal for social or travel knitting.

Skill Level: Beginner.

Skills Needed: Basic knitting skills, wrap & turn short rows, and increases (kfb).

Finished Size: 72 inches / 184 cm wide, 12 inches / 31 cm long at center.

Yarn: Infinite Twist Handspun Sampler, or five (5) 50-yard skeins of Aran or heavy worsted weight hand-spun in a gradient or mix of coordinating colors for CCs 1 – 5, plus one (1) 150 y skein of heavy worsted weight hand-spun in a contrasting color for MC.

Needles: U.S. size 8 / 5.0 mm or size 9 / 5.5 mm circular, 80 cm long, or any size yielding gauge.

Notions: Yarn needle.
