PATTERN NOTES
• Construction: Beilby is knitted sideways, divided into sections separated by garter-stitch columns with a slip stitch to highlight the border between sections and columns. Sections either end with a decrease in every row, or an increase in every row. An increase section is demarcated with “A” markers on either side; a decrease
section is demarcated with “B” markers on either side. The markers are placed when knitting the Set-up row.
• On sequence knitting: The increase and decrease sections in this scarf are knitted according to the sequence knitting principle. Sequence knitting is a way of creating complex textures, by repeating a simple sequence of stitches over and over again.
• Slip stitches: All slip stitches are slipped purlwise with yarn in front (pwise wyif), written as sl1 throughout.
