Beitidh - pronounced B EH-Tiy, is the Gaelic derivative of the English name Betsy and Scottish equivalent of Betty.

This is a loose fitting, slouchy style Fair Isle hat, knitted in an all-over design and finished with a wheel pattern crown. An ideal introduction to stranded knitting and working in the round, suitable for those with some experience.

The Fair Isle design is worked from a chart and colours can be changed as required.

The samples shown were worked in either two or four colours, in slightly differing weights of 4-ply yarn.

Version 1 - 2-Colour Version
Watercolours & Lace Cotswold 4-ply
50g (175m) in Yarn 1 (Midnight Storm)
50g (175m) in Yarn 2 (Soft Greens)
My sample used a total of approximately 65g

Version 2 - 4-Colour Version
Watercolours & Lace Blue Faced Leicester 4-ply
(You could also used Shetland 2-ply Jumper Weight)
20g (80m) in Yarn 1 (Deep Purple Dreams)
20g (80m) in Yarn 2 (Evening on the Moors)
20g (80m) in Yarn 3 (Faded Moss)
