This pattern creates a beanie with a snuggly fitting double brim to keep your ears warm. It also uses mosaic knitting to introduce a contrast color which adds interest to the hat without being overwhelming.

Needles: US sizes 2.5 / 4; metric sizes 3 and 3.5mm; preferably short (interchangeable) needles & 16in cord

Gauge: 25st / 34 rows with bigger needles in stockinette stitch

Yarn: Cloudborn Fibers Merino Alpaca Sport, 70/75/80g in main color (MC) and 10/12/14g in contrast color (CC) or whatever fits the gauge. A wool (mix) yarn tends to hold the pattern better than cotton.

Sizes: S (19.5in), M (20.5in), L (21.5in); The fit is supposed to be snug, you probably want about 2in negative ease.
