I love leaves and a lot of my designs include them one way or another.
This is a very quick project that can offer you pretty much instant gratification. The border has an easy leaf lace and I trust any adventurous beginners could handle it. The pattern includes written instructions as well as the chart.
It is worked flat for the border and then pick up stitches from the straight edge and knit in the round.

Pattern was designed specifically for 1 ball only of New Zealand yarns containing upcycled Possum and Merino, BRUSHTALE or BRUSHTAIL. If you want a higher neck, part of a second ball will be needed.

These yarns are a sustainable choice being made in New Zealand from upcycled possum fur and merino wool. Off-cuts from garments and yarn that don’t make it into a finished product are shredded and then carded and blended with virgin wool and spun into a beautifully soft hand knitting yarn. Possum fur is a super fibre that has a hollow core, making it exceptionally light and insulating. Merino wool is very fine, soft and helps wick moisture away from the skin, preventing odours and keeping you dry. The blending of these brilliant natural fibres creates a beautiful soft yarn.

NZ possums are a major agricultural and conservation pest, destroying a lot of vegetation and native plants and posing a deadly threat to NZ bird life.
