Belgian Wheat Vest
A versitile unisex vest. Dress it up or dress it down. This vest is knit in pieces and seamed for durability along stress points. A lightly textured but repetitive stitch pattern and little details will make knitting it fast and interesting, simple and stunning. Easily alterable.
Originally knit in Briggs & Little’s Regal, any woolen-spun worsted-weight will provide a suitable alternative. It can of course be knit in worsted-spun yarns of the same weight (like the ever lovely Cascade 220), but woolen-spuns promise added warmth and poofiness.
This vest has been test knit in the 40” and 44” inch sizes.
Choosing a size: The vest modeled in the pattern is a 40” inch vest, worn on a 38”. This means that the vest is worn with “2” positive ease.” If you want your vest to be slightly loose in the way this one is worn, choose a size larger than the intended chest, or the same size/smaller if you want it to be more fitted.
