Bella Bella Mittens
Bella Bella Mittens are made by first doing a ribbed cuff, then a Latvian Braid, then working charted patterns. The design is on the front of the mitten and the palms and thumbs are done in a checkerboard pattern. The checkerboard pattern is also charted but once you get going, you will not need to look at the chart for every row.
All knitting is done with just 2 colors at a time. There are lots of color changes so consider using techniques to weave in as you go. The cuff is knitted with size 1 needles, then you switch to size 2 for the rest of the mitten.
Skills used on these mittens: knitting in the round, reading charts, setting stitches aside on scrap yarn, and kitchener stitch (for closing the top of the mitten).
All yarns are Knit Pick Palette 100% wool
