The Belle Ami wrap is named after my beautiful great aunt Ami (hence the feminin form of the adjective “belle”). She loved all crafts including crochet. The wrap is made using the filet crochet technique. The pattern consists of a grid chart to follow (rather than written instructions which would be pages and pages long!). The technique is explained in depth and helpful pictures are included in the pattern.

Skill level: intermediate or adventurous beginner. Filet crochet is an easy technique which uses only the basic chain and double crochet stitches (US terms).

Pattern Details: 2 PDF files are included: instructions and charts

Yarn amounts: 1900-2000m (2000-2200yds) light sport or fingering weight yarn. For the example shown here I used 12 skeins of Drops Alpaca. Please note that this is an estimated amount only. If your crochet style and gauge differ, you might need more yarn.

Hook: 2.5mm or 3.0mm depending on your tension.

Size: The example shown here is 54x180cm. The length of the wrap can be adjusted.. How to do this is explained in the PDF.
