This pattern is a Belle Doll costume for 18 inch Dolls. The pattern is written for Modern Girl Dolls by Creatology and carried by Michael’s. There are alteration suggestions in the pattern to alter the design to fit other 18 inch doll brands as not all of them have the same proportions.

Note for American Girl Brand: This pattern nearly perfectly fits American Girl as written, with exception of the caped shoulder sleeves. Alteration suggestions for the armholes will take care of this.

This pattern uses 1.5 skeins of the Caron Simply Soft Solids in “Sunshine”. I don’t suggest changing the weight of yarn as it will affect the scale of the proportions in the dress and the color pallet is chosen to most closely resemble the character for an accurate costume.

NOTE: The sewn on beads and snaps in the back can make this dress a choking hazard for young babies. Supervise play if giving to small children. Other parts of the dress are baby safe.
