Bellechasse is knit sideways, with a pretty lace border along the edge. Small, delicate and simple, it is easy to wear with all outfits. Its construction allows you to make the most out of a very special skein of yarn. No need to pick up stitches to knit the lace edging; it is built in!

What you’ll need

• 400 yards of fingering weight yarn, or any yarn you wish to use. See notes in pattern.
• 4.0 mm (size 6) circular needles – I used 32” long needles
• Yarn needle
• Stitch marker

Recommended yarn: any fiber that you can wet block to open up the lace. Solid and semi-solid colors will show off the details better.

Dimensions
56 inches long, 14 inches wide in middle. Adjustable. See notes in pattern

Gauge
10 stitches and 16 rows = 2 inches in garter stitch, after blocking
Gauge is not important, but it will affect yardage and final dimensions.

Bellechasse est un châle tricoté sur le côté, avec une jolie bordure de dentelle. Petit, délicat et simple, c’est un châle facile à porter. Sa construction permet de maximiser l’utilisation d’un écheveau de laine spécial ou précieux. Et pas besoin de reprendre des mailles pour créer la bordure en dentelle; elle se tricote au fur et à mesure!

Matériel

• 385 m (400 yds) de laine de calibre fingering, ou la laine de votre choix. Voir Dimensions pour plus de détails
• aiguilles circulaires de 4.0 mm (size US 6) – j’ai utilisé des aiguilles avec un fil de 80 cm (32 po )
• Aiguille à laine
• Marqueur de mailles

Laine recommandée: n’importe quelle fibre que vous pouvez bloquer pour bien ouvrir la dentelle. Les couleurs unies ou semi-unies permettront de mieux voir les détails.

Dimensions
142 cm (56 po) de long, 35 cm (14 po) à la pointe la plus large (Ajustable, voir notes dans le patron)

Échantillon
10 mailles et 16 rangs = 5 cm (2 po) en point mousse, après blocage.
Votre tension et le blocage vont influencer les dimensions finales et la quantité de laine requise.
