How many times do we really wear the same shawl? What do we do with it in between? We use it as a table runner!

This versatile pattern is easily lengthened or widened. Make a skinny scarf in a single evening. Make a wider shawl. Make a table runner to custom fit that bureau in your bedroom.

Of all the bobbin laces, torchon, with its diamond-shaped background net, fans and trails, is the easiest to transform into crochet. This design is modeled after the historical torchon bobbin lace.

Sizes Available: You can adjust the width of this pattern by adding panels which are continuously crocheted. No seaming.

The pattern gives instructions for adjusting the length.

Dimensions for samples in pattern:
Shawl: 22.5 in by 67 in (57 cm by 170 cm)
Scarf: 6.5 in by 66 in (16.5 cm by 168 cm)

Fiber used for samples in pattern:
Shawl: Hand Dyed Rayon Boucle, lace weight, Willow, 550 yards/503 meters

Scarf: J&P Coats Royale Fashion Crochet (Size 3), white, 157 yards/137 meters, used 1.3 balls = 195 yards/178 meters
