The Bells Will Be Ringing Socks are a classic cabled and ribbed sock design with a modern style. The socks have small cables on the leg and toe, along with plenty of ribbing to hug your feet.

“Bells will be ringing” is a nod to celebrating milestones, big and small. These socks are a tangible reminder that life’s unexpected twists and turns are all part of the path that will take you where you want to go. And when you get there, I hope bells will be ringing.

The Bells Will Be Ringing Socks are knit from the top down and have a heel-flap-and-gusset construction. The cables are mirrored, and the ribbing gives a close fit that’ll stay put no matter where the day takes you. Written and charted directions are included for the cable sections so you can choose which works best for you.

SIZES
1 (2, 3, 4)

Finished leg circumference (unstretched):
5¾ (6½, 7¼, 8)” / 14.5 (16.5, 18.5, 20.5) cm.

Note: Unstretched ribbing is deceptively skinny! The cable rounds draw in a bit, but the ribbing is very stretchy.

Designed to fit with about ½” / 1 cm negative ease. Leg length: 5½” / 14 cm

YARN
Approx. 300 (340, 380, 425) yds / 275 (310, 350, 390) m of fingering weight yarn

Yarn estimates are based on a total sock foot length of 9” / 23 cm.

The sample socks are shown in Size 2 in Green Letter Day Sock (473 yds 430m / 100g; 75% SW Merino / 25% nylon) in the color All the Way Mae (solid) and in Little Lionhead Knits Fingering Weight yarn (85% SW Merino, 15% nylon; 437 yds/ 100g) in the color Winter Mornings (speckled).

GAUGE
32 sts / 48 rounds = 4” / 10 cm in stockinette (after blocking)
40 sts / 48 rounds = 4” /10 cm in 3x1 rib (unstretched, after blocking)
