Sweet stranded elephants march across the belly of this adorable baby sweater. Knit from the bottom up with raglan seams and sleeves knit in the round, this sweater requires no seaming at all!

This pattern does require flat colorwork (not knit in the round), and there are some pretty large stretches of one color only in some rows. If you’d like, you may prefer to knit it in intarsia rather than stranded knitting.

This pattern includes a glossary of abbreviations and detailed instructions for some of the intermediate techniques included in the pattern. See the appendix at the end if you need to learn how to work a left-leaning ssk decrease, do a three-needle bindoff, or pick up stitches for a buttonband. If you already know how to do all these things, you can ignore pages 6-9 of the pattern!
