Belmina
I like using vintage stitch patterns, and most of the time I make at least a slight modification to add them to a more modern design. For the Old & New series, I began with edgings that were published in 1891, as part of the Home Work collection.

Great for gifts, and you may also like the Cold Sand Cowl for a quick project!

Belmina is a quick and fun knitted cowl, worked flat (sideways) and seamed at the back of the neck. It features the lace edging and a decorative slipped stitch upper edge. Work from either charts of the full written instructions. Use sport or light DK yarns that will produce a similar gauge; be sure to adjust yardage requirements when making substitutions.

Materials used for sample (shown in smaller size ~ weighs 61g):
Malabrigo Arroyo
1 skein Sand Bank (either size)

The lace in this design is a modified version of a stitch pattern from Home Work, published in 1891
