Below is a crescent- shaped one-skein shawl that combines garter stitch and lace. The lace panel in the middle of the shawl grows towards the edge and the border is decorated with picot bind-off.

The shawl is worked from the neck down and it can easily be grown to a larger size: just continue knitting until you run out of yarn or reach the size you want.
