This pullover is worked from the top down. The two back shoulders are worked separately back and forth, then the shoulders are joined while casting on stitches for the neck. The front shoulders are worked separately back and forth. The upper body is worked back and forth, beginning and ending at the center of the front, while at the same time the sleeve caps are worked to create a set-in sleeve look using contiguous sleeves.
