Inspired by the sweeping curves of the Sydney Opera House. The Bennelong shawl is made up of 4 curving sections created by short row shaping over a simple garter stitch and eyelet lace pattern.

The shawl pictured is worked in 4ply pure wool from The Yarn Gallery but you could use any 4 ply or sock weight yarn. Equally you could use a finer or heavy yarn to make a smaller or larger shawl.

Finished Measurements after blocking: 40cm x 240cm (16” x 94”)

4ply Pure New Wool from The Yarn Gallery
4 50g balls of different colours for multi-coloured shawl

In total the shawl weighs 130gs – approx. 600 meters of yarn

4.5mm needles. Circular needles are recommended due to the large number of stitches on the final rows.
