Bennington Poncho
Hi everyone, this listing is for my most requested item, the bennington capelet (R). It’s crocheted in the round with a super chunky bulky weight yarn and works up very quickly with a large size “S” crochet hook. You’ll be ready to wear this in one day!
A beginner’s understanding of the following stitches is necessary:
Slip stitch
Single crochet
Double crochet
DC 2tog (decrease: double crochet two stitches together)
2DC in same stitch (increase)
One size fits most. Finished Measurements:
24” from top of cowl to bottom edge. Cowl is 10” down and 23” around. Body is 14” down and 46” around without stretching. It is pictured on a size 8 dress form and as you can see it is very roomy.
In addition to the straight edge bottom, I have included instructions for a scalloped edge bottom as well. Sometimes we all need a little ruffle! Inside these instructions you may also choose to make this capelet without the cowl part - it’s totally up to you!
