I wanted a bulky yarn beanie pattern that had texture but did not work up stiff. This pattern is simple in design…but full of great texture. Works great with heavier bulky yarns like Loops and Threads Charisma. I especially love it with slightly thinner bulky yarns like Knit Picks Brava Bulky, Plymouth Encore Chunky and Patons Shetland Chunky. I have provided modifications to account for the thinner bulky yarns. The Benny Cowl has been included as a bonus at the end of the pattern document.

You will want to use bulky weight yarn. 3 different hook sizes will be used - the exact hook sizes you use will depend on your own tension. I used a 6.5mm, 8mm and 11.5mm (my testers loved a 10mm).

Skill Level: Advanced beginner.

Stitches used: sc, hdc, hdcdec, hdc3loop, hdc3loopdec, tr, ch, & sl st.
