Bento Boksy is a boxy, stylish pullover with lots of ’60s feel and loads of roomy ease.

Like all Ziggurats Bento is knitted in one piece and top down but with less zigging and zagging than usual because of the drop sleeve.

You begin with a double funnel neck and knit your way to the faintly curved hem and its contrasting lining.

The sleeve is picked up last and begins with (optional) narrow striped piping – a separately knitted welt - and ends with an upturned contrasting cuff. Note: the sleeve and upturn are both a tad shorter in the final pattern (I changed my mind… and there was more drape to the yarn than I had realised).

If piping is too fiddly for your taste, two alternative methods are provided in the pattern

A single contrasting square is (double) knitted on the back (photo tutorial in the pattern). This square could be worked in intarsia technique or added on afterwards via double stitching (the pattern does not tell you how to do this).

The piping makes an appearance also as an edging for the optional double knitted pocket. It’s a fiddly pocket, so I link also to an easier inline pocket. The pocket could be omitted altogether but… pockets are a good thing!
