BerBer Wrap
BerBer Wrap is a cosy, fluffy, easy-to-wear big shawl, worked in fingerging weight yarn on bigger needles, so it is airy and it flies off the needles quickly.
You can use as few/many colours as you like. It will look elegant with some shiny silky merino in just one color or it can be pretty crazy when you use up your stash!
MATERIAL
Aprox. 1000m/1093yd of fingering weight yarn. I used cca 300g of Drops Alpaca (50g/167m).
For color combination shown on the pictures I used:
MC1 about 345m/377yd (color Light Camel 2020)
MC2 about 315m/345yd (color Light Beige 0618)
MC3 275m/300yd (color Light Brown 0607)
CC1, CC2 and CC3 about 20m/22yd each (colors Goldenrod 2923, Rust 2925, Maroon 3650).
GAUGE
17 st and 32 rows on 10cm (4”) on 5mm needles (US 8) in garter stitch after blocking and relaxing. Gauge is not crucial in this pattern, but can affect final size or meterage needed.
SIZE
About 57 x 200 cm (22,5 x 79”) without tassels, after blocking and relaxing. Size is easily adjustable - you can knit section B as long as you like.
NEEDLES
5mm (US8), I highly recommend using interchangeable circular needles (as the first part is worked in the rounds, and then half of the stitches are put on hold on the cable)
OTHERS
4x Stitch markers
Spare cable from interchangeable needles (or waste yarn)
Tapestry needle for weawing the ends
