I adore how these mittens turn out using cake yarn. Each mitten is different, but I think they still look good as a pair even though they are not identical. A cute idea would be to turn a cake (or multiple cakes) into mittens and then pair them up how ever you like. You could also manipulate the cake yarn (but cutting and separating the colors) to make the mittens have the same striping pattern.

5.5 mm (I/9) crochet hook
Worsted weight (#4) yarn.
I used Caron Cakes (in Cake Pop, Mixed Berry and Red Velvet) for this pattern, but any yarn that matches the gauge will work.
