Materials

5.5 mm (I/9) hook
540 yards (500 m) of self striping yarn
I used Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable in Teal Berry (2 balls), and Caron Cakes in Cake Pop (2 balls). I did have left over yarn with both brands. With the Caron cakes, I used less then 2 changes on the second ball. With the Red Heart Boutique, I had approximately 1/2 of the second ball left.

ch – chain stitch
hdc – half double crochet
fhdc – foundation hdc (optional)
hdc/sc dec – yarn over, insert hook into first stitch and pull up a loop, insert hook into second stitch and pull up another loop, yarn over and pull through all loops
sc/hdc dec- insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop, yarn over, insert hook into next stitch and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through all loops
sc – single crochet
