Bertha Sweater
Bertha Sweater is a simple and chunky sweater with a raglan construction and bishop sleeves that are slightly shorter than full length. It is worked seamlessly from the top down using 5 strands in 5 different yarn qualities held together, which creates a beautiful and unique look.
You start working the ribbed neckband before shaping the neckline with short rows. Afterwards, the yoke is shaped with raglan increases before body and sleeves are divided at the underarms, and each part finished separately. The body is finished with a ribbed hem while the sleeves are finished with decreases and a simple knitwise bind off.
The sweater can be worked in the same colorway across the different yarn qualities which will showcase the different fibers or you can play with colors and combine different colorways for a more marled effect.
The sweater has the potential to be a very quick and manageable project as it is worked using 10 mm / US15 needles.
