Bertie the Bunny
The pattern is an easy level and uses US terms. A knowledge of how to crochet is essential as it does not teach you how to crochet, it simply provides instructions to make the toy.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Bertie is approx. 15cm tall.
You will need:
- 3.50mm hook/E (US)
- 10ply yarn (Worsted / Aran) > 50g CREAM, less than 50g in other colours
- BLACK embroidery thread
- A pair of 10mm safety eyes
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker (optional)
Notes:
- Amigurumi is usually worked in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- I’ve used Hobbii Friends Cotton 8/8 in the following yarns: o CREAM = colour 04 Cream o PURPLE = colour 061 Thistle o BLUE = colour 090 Capri Blue o HOT PINK = colour 47 Pink o SOFT PINK = colour 51 Baby Pink
