’Best Friends’ ~ a versatile dress/coat that is both rich in texture and stylish in form, offering variations making it suitable for all seasons complete with matching cuffed brim hat or headband. Inspired by my two loves: textured stitch patterns and my first love of teddy bears, setting the stage and namesake

Designed to fit: Slim all vinyl Götz dolls like Classic/Happy Kidz & Hannah type

Construction: Worked flat; back and forth in rows. Dress begins with sleeves worked from two styles;

• Long Sleeves ~ featuring a contrast color-block lower section worked in Sand Stitch with a featured Upper Cuff creating a trendy layered effect, worked to length with option to work in one color OR
• Short Sleeves ~ worked in contrast or main color with a featured Cuff for a stylish look perfect for the transitional seasons

Dress/Coat Main Piece: ~ worked from bottom textured stitched Welt in one piece to armholes, then joined together with the sleeves, to be worked in one piece for raglan shaping on through to neckline; that offers an additional look. Includes full written line-by-line instructions with optional chart for welt pattern only

• Main Body Welt ~ features a Chevron Seed Stitch pattern; written instructions include seed stitch buttonbands with buttonhole placement with option to work from chart
• Main Body ~ features a Diamond Moss Stitch pattern worked throughout combined with Seed Stitch panels used for shaping. No chart is offered for this section, worked from written instructions only
• Neckline ~ worked from two styles; a simple neckline as shown on the spring/summer sample or a mock turtle neckline shown on the winter sample

Hat/Headband: Designed to fit slim all vinyl Götz dolls like Classic /Happy Kidz & Hannah type with an approx 11” head circumference

Construction: Both Hat and Headband worked flat; back and forth in rows featuring a textured stitched cuffed brim matching the Chevron Seed Stitch pattern worked on the welt of dress, and an overlap button closure, hat continues with simple stockinette stitch crown shaping

Skill Level: Easy - Intermediate
Project uses a mixture of textured stitched patterns with simple shaping and finishing

Knitting Needles: Pair of 3.25mm (US 3) throughout

Materials: 142 – 190 yards (52-68 grams) for dress/coat, of Fine # 2 weight or Sport/DK equivalent (includes contrast) and 33 – 50 yards (12-20 grams) for headband/hat

Gauge: Using 3.25mm needles 8sts and 9 rows in 1 inch over sand stitch based on materials used: Brava Sport and Wool of the Andes Sport by Knit Picks

Notions: 6 - 8 Buttons size 10mm-11mm (1 used on cuffed brim of hat), Darning Needle
