The Bestie Bandana is a light-weight square bandana with a simple lace design. It is worked from corner to corner, beginning at one end, increasing at each edge until its final width, creating a triangle. From there, it is decreased at each edge and worked to a point. The pattern has both charted and written instructions, and is a great project for any knitter who knows the basics! You can wear it as a true bandana, head scarf, or ascot!

Materials:

  • 425 yards / 389 meters of lace weight yarn (see sample information below for yarns used) - Note: this pattern can be worked using other weights of yarn, but keep in mind the heavier weight yarns will produce a thicker bandana.
  • Size US 3 (3.25mm) 32” (80cm) circular needles
  • Stitch markers (optional)
  • Tapestry needle

Gauge:
23 sts & 44 rows = 4” / 10 cm in lace pattern on size US 3 (3.25mm) needles, after gentle blocking.

Finished Measurements:
23.5” / 59 cm x 23.5” / 59 cm square.
The size is easily adjustable - instructions that can be adjusted are bolded throughout the pattern.
