Beth's Patchwork Fichu, Little Women inspired
Alcott’s story of the March sisters {Jo, Beth, Meg and Amy} and their dear Marmee evokes coziness, home and hearth, Christmas, kindness, youth’s affection, imagination, literary ambition and strong womanhood. My favorite character is Beth; she rallies around everyone in the pursuit of peace and good will. She’s forever busy with knitting and sewing projects. I have dedicated this design to her sweet spirit.
“There are many Beths in the world, shy and quiet, sitting in corners till needed, and living for others so cheerfully that no one sees the sacrifices till the little cricket on the hearth stops chirping, and the sweet, sunshiny presence vanishes, leaving silence and shadow behind.” Louisa May Alcott, Little Women
