The finished butterfly, when worked in women’s institute soft and silky yarn, will measure approximately 19cm head to tail and 20cm wing to wing. This will of course vary with weights of yarn and hook/tension. For a larger butterfly make in double knit, aran or chunky.

mutli coloured 60g White, approx 50g
Grey, approx 30g Crochet Hook 2.50mm
This pattern is easy to follow but requires basic crochet knowledge. It is written in US terms but easy to convert to UK.

The wings are worked in African Flower shapes with instructions on how to make them. Written form with photographs and handy hints to follow for assembly.
The body is worked using single crochet
