These Bettpadscherl/ socks are for my aunt Ilse, who has breast cancer. I wanted to knit something for her, which is warm and cuddling.

The word Bettpadscherl is original from Vienna. It describes Socks you are wearing in bed, so you don’t have cold feet. And as you know there is nothing worse than cold feet in bed 
I used an old 1/1 cable pattern for “Zwickelstrümpfe”, a traditional stocking in Austria and many other countries.

The heel and gusset are knitted flat. Then it’s joined to the round and knitted to your required length.

There are three sizes S, M, and L.

Small is 32-35 EU / 0,5-3 UK/ 32-33Y-3,5-5 US standard size
Medium 36-39 EU/ 3,5-4,5/5-6,5 US standard size
Large 40-43 EU/ 7-8,5 UK/ 7-10 US standard size

There is a foot size chart at the end of the pattern, if you want to surprise someone with this warm and cozy “Bettpadscherl” 

You can adjust the socks easily, but keep the pattern in mind

I used 39 gram, 164LM/ 179yard
