Betty Mouat Sweater
Nautical Sweater with vintage Shetland Lace
Fitted by underbust and full-bust measurements to create the perfect fit.
The lace section is worked in the traditional Shetland cockleshell pattern, using Susan Steven’s no-purl garter stitch method.
The pattern includes two sleeve length options (cap sleeves, long sleeves), as well as charted and written lace instructions.
Yarn
You will need three shades of fingering-weight Shetland; between 535 and 1070 yards of MC (short sleeve) and 875 - 1675 yards of MC (long sleeve); or between 185 and 495 yards of two contrast colours, CC1 & 2 (same for both sleeve lengths). See pattern for detailed yardage information.
