Bettye Shawlette & Shawls
In previous versions of this pattern, I used the terms, Shawlette & Shawl for sizing. The Shawlette is now Small, the Shawl is now Medium and Large is the NEW size.
If you’ve ever been to the shop I work at, A Good Yarn Sarasota, you’ve probably been greeted from the knitting table by Bettye Banks. Bettye is a dear customer and has to be the most joyful individual I’ve ever met. If Bettye has ever had a bad day, you wouldn’t know it. She is also a wealth of information on recent Sarasota History, which is just another reason I love Bettye. She put in a request a few weeks back: Cat, why don’t you design me a shawlette? And since many people request small projects to give as gifts, to knit whilst traveling or to use with pricey yarn, I decided to give it a shot. The yarns I used are so beautiful, they don’t require a complicated stitch pattern. You could choose to use a heavier yarn with a coordinating size of needle and you’ll have a larger-size project. For example, using a worsted weight yarn (and a larger needle size) for the Small, would give you closer to a Medium or Large size project.
I’ve recently added a NEW 3rd size: LARGE Shawl, using Miss Babs Keira. ALL 3 versions are a “1 skein” project, respectively.
