This pattern is for a pair of cable lace socks. The cable itself is a Japanese cable lace stitch that is just perfect for socks. There’s enough “give” to make them comfortable, but enough unusual cabling to make them interesting to look at and fun to knit. The cabling and ribbing also make them “stay up” on your leg. If you want them slouchy, use a k2/p2 ribbing on a one size larger needle.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting and purling, and cabling).

The cable stitch is charted only.

This pattern is written for 2 circular needles and is written for sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, and is sized by gauge. If you make a size L or XL, adjust your yarn to fit the needle size.

The sock pictured here was made with Handmaiden’s Prosecco yarn, in colorway, Amethyst.

The socks shown in the sample was expertly test knitted by Karen Bowen who can be contacted at: ktbowen18 @msn.com
