Betwixt Mine Eye and Heart
Betwixt mine eye and heart a league is took,
And each doth good turns now unto the other:
When that mine eye is famish’d for a look,
Or heart in love with sighs himself doth smother…
Sonnet 47 ~William Shakespeare
Betwixt Mine Eye & Heart is a cowl for someone special ~ whenever they see or wear it, they’ll be reminded of your love and friendship.
Knit in the round with worsted weight yarn, the intertwined lace hearts make it a quick, yet interesting, knit.
You can adjust the length and width of this cowl by increasing or decreasing the number of repeats. Keep in mind that doing so will affect the amount of yarn you’ll use.
The pattern includes written instructions and a lace chart.

About Sonnet 47: For those interested in the complete Sonnet 47 and it’s current paraphrasing, check it out here.
For CSI Fans: I was geeked about naming my cowl, Betwixt Mine Eye and Heart, because in an episode of CSI (Las Vegas), Grissom quoted Sonnet 47 in his love letter to Sara!
Adjustable size: The purple cowl is knit to pattern’s instructions. The gray cowl is knit with less than 150 yards of worsted weight yarn, has fewer stitches cast on, 2 fewer repeats per row, one extra row added for a taller cowl, and a super stretchy bind-off (because it’s not as wide).
