This mosaic crochet blanket was designed and named for my cousins-in-law. Any number of repeats can be used to make the size and shape you like.

In DK weight yarn, each repeat (24 st by 68 rows) measured approximately 4.5” by 12.5”.
Dimensions of sample:
Length: approximately 8’ 5” (8’ 10” with border)
Width: approximately 4’ 3” (4’ 8” with border)

Gauge should be roughly square and should be adjusted for different yarn weights. For reference, using DK weight, 21 sts x 20 rows = 4×4” (10 cm) in single crochet

Materials
Yarn: A minimum of two contrasting colors of the same weight. I used a variety of colors of Stylecraft Life DK and Stylecraft Special DK for the background color, keeping the pattern color the same throughout. For the photo sample, I used approximately 3500 yards of pattern color, 4500 yards of background color, and 2000 yards of border color
Hook: G/6 4 mm and E/4 3.5 mm hooks, or hooks appropriate for yarn
Notions: tapestry needle

I used ten repeats within each row (total 267 st per row) and seven repeats of the center rows (total 523 rows). I used Stylecraft Life DK in Denim Nepp 17 balls as the pattern color throughout and stripes of Cream 5 balls, Oatmeal 5 balls, and Daffodil/Stylecraft Special DK Saffron 4 balls as the background color. I alternated Daffodil with Stylecraft Special DK in Saffron in the yellow band.
