About the pattern
Many walks by the wild river with its mossy stones and swirling ferns, branches of the trees forming symmetrical structures in the chilly air, gave me the inspiration for designing this warm & textured hat.
difficulty / skill level
The pattern is suitable for beginners, it uses following techniques:
knit, purl, cast on, k2tog, ssk.
materials
- 66m (72yd) of bulky weight yarn
114m/100g (125yd/100g) - the pattern shows in in colour number #7040, a heathered green. - one circular needle AND/OR set of double pointed needles size 6.0mm (US 10) OR any needle to obtain gauge = main needle
- one circular needle size 5.5mm (US 9) for brim = smaller needle
- tapestry needle
- one stitch marker

- Diameter at brim: circa 24cm (9.5”)
- Height: circa 19cm (7.5”)
sizing
The hat comes in one size to fit an approximately 54-58cm (22-23”) head circumference.
This sample is shown on an adult with 57cm (23”) head circumference.
The pattern sample is worked with one strand of Hillesvåg Troll, colour ‘7040 bleket lime’ , a heathered green. Troll is a 2 ply, airy spun, non- superwash yarn that shows off texture well.
