Bias Stripe Cowl
26/06/20 I have removed all my patterns, free or for sale, from ravelry’s downloads due to the site staff’s ableist responses to feedback about the accessibility of the new look. The patterns might be reinstated in the future, depending on what happens, but at this point that seems unlikely. Thank you to all who bought and knitted my patterns.
This warm, stylish cowl is knit on the bias, and striped for an extra funky effect. The stitch pattern creates an extra diagonal “stripe” pattern, perpendicular to the colour stripes, adding texture and even more visual interest!
This pattern is a great stash-buster (it requires only approx 30g of each colour), and the pattern is written for 4 weights of yarn, from fingering/sock weight all the way up to chunky, to use those small amounts of yarn in your stash. Fun to knit, with an easy to remember, intuitive pattern, yet enough going on to keep interest, this is the perfect project for going into the colder months!
Techniques: The pattern uses a provisional cast on (links are given in the pattern to tutorials, I’m working on one myself now), a three needle bind off (instructions given for that in the pattern,
and a thumb loop cast on for adding stitches (instructions also supplied in the pattern)
