This pattern was created for Knitorious, my local yarn shop. Each year the shop gives away a free pattern for the Summer’s Last Blast Yarn Crawl. This was ours for 2013.

Gauge is not real important with this pattern, but I’ve listed the approximate gauge for the scarf after blocking. Please note that this scarf looks best with a hard blocking to open up the mesh pattern.

8/31/2013: UPDATE/TIPS
If substituting a different weight yarn, work section one (increase section) and weigh the piece carefully. Since you will need approximately the same amount of yarn for section three (decrease section), you will know exactly how much yarn you need to complete the scarf.
