Biased Cable Vest
Knitting on the bias creates a diagonal fabric with a naturally beautiful drape. The opulence of the slanting cables is enhanced by both the weight and sheen of the yak and bamboo blend yarn. The vest naturally hangs slightly open for a very flatt ering fit.
Finished bust: 32½ (35, 37½, 40, 42½, 44¾, 47¼, 49¾, 52¼)“ 82.5 (89, 95.5, 101.5, 108, 113.5, 120, 126.5, 132.5) cm, with approx 1¾” (4.5 cm) overlap of front bands
sample in 35” (89 cm) bust.
Yarn: Bijou Basin Ranch “Lhasa Wilderness”, 75% yak / 25% bamboo; 180 yards; 2 oz (56 grams); natural brown
Needles: Size US 4 (3.5 mm) and US 5 (3.75 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Stitch markers; stitch holders or waste yarn; a third needle size US 4 (3.5 mm) for Three Needle BO; tapestry needle; sewing thread; sewing needle; one _“ button.
GAUGE: 24 sts and 40 rows = 4” in Garter Stitch with smaller needles; 26 sts and 32 rows = 4” in Cable Ribbing Pattern with larger needles. Take time to save time, check your gauge.
