This is our little chunky sweetheart of a sweater.
The kind that makes you feel like a cute little bear.
Every summer we have been enjoying many meals outside in the sun, or under our big tree when it gets too hot, as it often does here in the south of France.
We are then surrounded by lavender bushes and humming bees, and loads of pretty butterflies, especially white ones, just flying around us. Those little ones inspired astrid for this sweater, and got their own spot on the upper part.
Yes, we call it the Butterfly Sweater.
Construction of The Butterfly Sweater - no. 26
The sweater is worked back and forth in stockinette stitch using 2 threads held together, from the bottom up. The sleeves are worked separately, also back and forth.

Ease : The Butterfly sweater is intended to have approx. 10cm/4” of positive ease in chest width (20cm/8” in chest circumference).
Tension/Gauge
With 2 threads held together, worked back and forth using the larger needles:
13 sts and 18 rows = 10x10cm 4” in stockinette stitch
13 sts and 21 rows = 10x10cm 4” in Butterfly pattern
Suggested Needle Sizes
6mm UK4/US10 + 7mm UK2/US10.75 or the size to obtain gauge.
Straight or circular needles to accommodate for the large number of stitches.
