This pattern makes a little tube to cover your bicycle hand brake lever. The brake is still usable, but it’s warmer in those months when it’s too cold to touch the metal with bare fingers but too warm for gloves. Any yarn would work for this, I just picked something that I had sitting around in a color that would brighten my mood.

When laid flat the tubes measure 3.5” x 1”. Gauge is only important in that the tubes need to slide onto your brake levers and fit snugly enough to not fall off. Your brake levers may not be the same size as mine. Pay attention to the dimensions of yours more than to the gauge I needed to fit my levers with the scrap of yarn I used.
