Dear Makers,
I would love to ask for your help. Maybe you already saw the news about the huge flood in Rio Grande do Sul, in the south of Brazil. The situation is being considered as tragic as the Katrina hurricane on 2005 in US.
After 9 months of a flood last year, now the region is facing another one, this time much more devastating.
The State does not have precise numbers once the rescue is still going on. What we know until now is that 1,7M people were affected and 431 cities were flooded.
Many crucial civilian efforts have been made. From athletes that are giving up from the olimpcs to help rescuing people and animals under the water to internet influencers doing their best raising funds and equipments.
The efforts to rebuild so many cities is unimaginable. For now, people are in total need of shelter, drinking water and essential items.
I would like your help raising funds to one of the instituitions that are working in RS, the CUFA @cufabrasil (Central Única das Favelas – a nonprofit organization).

All started with a suggestion from the amazing Paola, from mYak and FibreGentili to create an accessory, that can be accessible to all knitters and perfect to bring color and texture to any outfit!
The idea for Biella is an uncomplicated and pleasant to knit accessory that brings warmth, color, and texture for our
wardrobe! Also, it is a blank canvas for the maker creativity! We can freely play with colors and different fibers! I hope
Biella brings you joy while knitting and wearing it!

Yarn: 2 skeins of Gentile di Lucania by Fibre Gentili (100% Italian Wool, 191 yds / 175 m – 50 g), colorway Pompelmo.
Or approx. 306 yds / 266 m of sport weight yarn.

Needles: US 6 / 4 mm 24” / 60 cm circular needles. Or size to obtain gauge.

GAUGE
23 sts x 34 rows to 4” / 10 cm on US 6 / 4 mm needles in garter stitch, after blocking.
