“Bienvenidas” means “you are welcomed” in Spanish. I am offering the Bienvenidas Cardigan pattern as a free pattern on Ravelry, as a thank you to the Ravelry community. It is also an invitation for “top-down knitting novices” to try out this simple and seamless construction method.

Bienvenidas is knit from the top-down; it has a gradual reversed v-shaped-front that is very figure flattering. This reversed v-shaped front, means that when the cardigan is worn open, it does not have this long triangular corner, that tends to hang off most asymmetrically shaped cardigans. The cardigan can be worn open, but it also has an optional “after-thought” button closure (see last page of pattern for additional sketch). Instructions are included for ¾ length or for full-length sleeves.

Knit this cardigan in fingering weight yarn at a looser gauge and you will love the drape of this lovely cardigan.

Sizes: XS (S, M, L1, L2)(XL, 2XL, 3XL) – to fit 34 (36, 38, 40, 42)(44, 48, 52)” chest /to fit 86 (91, 97, 102, 107)(112, 122, 132) cm chest
