Big-eyed Octopus
This tutorial contains a detailed patterns of two crochet Big-eyed Octopuses.
When using similar materials, the toy will be:
- BIG octopus - about 6,3” (16 cm)
- LITTLE octopus - about 3.5” (8-9 cm) You can crochet a toy from any yarn, only you will need to change eyes pattern (or use plastic eyes) and will have to choose the size of hooks yourself

The pattern in PDF format includes:
- recommendations on the selection of materials and tools
- very detailed crochet pattern with photo process

All patterns are written in standard US terms.
The pattern does not contain basic course of crocheting – you should already have the basic knowledge!
You need for BIG OCTOPUS:
- plush yarn Himalaya Dolphin Baby or analogues (100% polyester, 100g/120 mt or 3,53 oz/131 yrds):
* main color – 1 skein;
* additional color for the lower part of the tentacles - just a little bit;
- 4 mm hook / US size G (see the note below);
- for eyes:
- option 1 - lace yarn (mercerized cotton, 50g/328 yrds or 50g/300mt) – black, white and color of the pupil + 1 mm hook;
- option 2 - fine yarn (acryl or cotton, (50 g/200 mt or 1.76 oz/218 yrds) – black, white and color of the pupil + 2 mm hook;
- fiberfiller;
- scissors, stitch markers, thick (for embroidering the nose) and thin (for sewing the eyes) yarn needle
- satin ribbon for decoration - if desired.
You need for LITTLE OCTOPUS:
- yarn – cotton 55%, acryl 45%, 50g/160 mt or 1.76 oz/174 yrds:
* main color – less than 1 skein;
* additional color for the lower part of the tentacles, nose and bow - just a little bit;
- 2 mm hook/US Size 4;
- lace yarn for crochet eyes (100% mercerized cotton, 50g/328 yrds or 50g/300mt)– black, white and color of the pupil (according to your desire);
- 1 mm hook/US Size 10-12 - for crochet eyes;
- fiberfiller;
- scissors;
- stitch markers;
- thin yarn needle.
