Big Fish in a Little Pond Wrap
Lightweight and whimsical, the Big Fish in a Little Pond Wrap is the perfect accessory to add to your summer knitting and wardrobe. Rectangular in shape, the lace pattern that I designed specifically for this wrap features large fish swimming upstream. Because the lace has decreases at the sides at regular intervals, it naturally forms a scalloped border without having to work something separately, while the border on the ends does the same. I used only 3 skeins (136.7 yards per skein) of Cascade Yarns Ultra Pima Fine in 100 percent cotton in the shade of Cornflower to knit this wrap in. This yarn is sport weight and extremely stretchy, so other yarns might require more yardage to get similar results. The wrap ended up being 63 inches in length and 17 inches in width after being blocked. However, this pattern is very easy to customize since you can do as many repeats both width and length-wise to get the size piece you would like. Full written instructions, a chart, and video help links are included in the pattern.
