This is another hat based on Yurok Indian basket hat designs. This pattern is a foot, and I decided to call the hat “Big Foot Winter Hat” because this is bigfoot country. The pattern includes a chart and written instructions. There are two choices for the top of the hat, ordinary decreases or a spiral lateral braid pattern that resembles basket weave.

The hat is flat on top just because of the vase I used for blocking it. When wearing it, it looks more like a beanie or toque.
