This is a simple hat pattern meant for a large head, i.e., 23.5 in circumference or thereabouts. I couldn’t find a pattern that was exactly what I wanted for the exact gauge I had with this yarn, so I came up with my own pattern.

The Noro Obi yarn label suggests a range of needle sizes, #8 to #10, so I recommend the dreaded swatching before you start the hat, to make sure your gauge is correct.

You could use any chunky yarn for this hat; the Noro self-stripes, which is fun, but I was doing a commission for someone who gave me the yarn, hence the yarn choice!
