Big Knit Twinset
A written pattern, suitable for a beginner with good understanding of the basics of knitting, casting on, decreasing and increasing, slipping stitches, pockets and simple colour changing.
This is a fun and modern take on a design classic, the twinset, which has been re-imagined in a super chunky yarn, bright colours and a cheeky little crop top vest paired with an oversized cropped cardigan.
I developed the design using Rowan Big Wool, a lovely soft and chunky yarn that knits up quickly on 10mm and 12mm needles.
The gauge I achieved using 12mm needles was: 9 stitches over 12 rows giving 10cm square worked in STST. I knit with a fairly tight tension, so it is important to produce a tension square before starting.
If worked in the two colours illustrated you will need the following quantities:
XSmall: 5 x 100g bals in Yarn A and 2 x 100g balls in Yarn B
Small: 6 x 100g balls in Yarn A and 3 x 100g Balls in Yarn B
Medium: 6 x 100g balls in Yarn A and 3 x 100g Bals in Yarn B
Large: 7 x 100g balls in Yarn and 3 x 100g balls in Yarn B
